Smart Culture LAB conducts applied research with students of University of Applied Science Inholland together with partners from the creative industries and local government. The projects focus on finding smart and culturally vibrant urban solutions. The focus of all projects is creating value through Smart Cultural Urban Leisure Expriences.

Students
Students from Leisure & Events Management will work in small teams guided by experts from the industry and teachers of Inholland. In twenty weeks (one semester) the team develops a prototype for a commissioning client, in collaboration with them. The teams work at least three days a week at their projects at school, in the city or with their commissioning client.

Marie-Ange de Kort coordinates the program of Smart Culture since 2017-2018. Marie-Ange was the president of the curriculum commission of Leisure Management until the summer of 2017. She is senior lecturer Imagineering and Leisure Management and member of the editing team Journal for Leisure Studies at Vrijetijdsnetwerk.
Esther Bouw is developer of the program Smart Culture for Leisure & Events Management for University of Applied Sciences Inholland. She is an “educational change agent” according to Kaos Pilot and likes to challenge her students to really develop their skills and create products that they will be proud off! She conducted research to the power of visual storytelling, was coordinator of the Creative Business LAB of ACIN (Amsterdam Creative Industry Network), initiated the Living Lab of Inholland Amsterdam/Diemen and is the learning experience designer of the innovational multi-disciplinary minor Creative Growth Initiative for the Creative Business faculty of Inholland.
